GETTING STARTED
How do we buy and who installs it?
Purchase through our sales team or head office, and use your existing installer network. We include free onboarding/training for control room and installer teams.
What does onboarding involve for a control room?
Base and unit mapping & test events, portal account setup with roles/permissions and an agreed migration plan.
Compatibility
Will it work with my existing receiver software?
Yes. The base is designed to integrate with leading most receiver software such as Watch Manager, Listeners and others.
Do we need to replace legacy panels to use Finmon?
No. Our LTE/Wi-Fi communicators drop in alongside most existing panels. You can also upgrade to Mi-series panels (Mi8/Mi64) when it suits your roadmap.
How are events acknowledged?
Finmon supports bidirectional signalling with a single-handshake acknowledgement once your control room receives the event – improving reliability, reducing duplicates/retries and speeding operator response.
Connectivity
What happens if LTE signal is weak or Wi-Fi drops?
Devices can fail over automatically. Choose LTE Dual-SIM (for redundancy) with Wi-Fi models. Our supplied SIMs have no data cap, so signalling isn’t throttled.
Can we use our own SIMs/APN?
No. In order for the SIM to communicate with the base station and alarm servers the SIM needs to be provided by Finmon.
Do you support supervision/heartbeats?
Yes. We have a miPing service that pings a unit at a certain interval which the control room receives.

How do we manage devices across many sites?
The Finmon portal lets you program Finmon alarm panels remotely, manage, view, view device health, trace events, manage miAlarm users, and export reports – everything in one place.
How do we migrate from our current communicators?
We’ll help scope a phased rollout with templates/profiles, test a pilot group, then bulk-provision the rest – keeping downtime to a minimum.
Can I suspend a unit so its not billed so I can activate it later
Yes you can suspend a unit from the billing and any operation for a period of up to 3 months.
